Infrastructure that doesn't suck.
Learning IT and networking by doing. Clustered servers, a Raspberry Pi 5, and a MikroTik router — documenting the journey from beginner to competent, one mistake at a time.
Projects & gear.
What's running right now in the Hubris Network rack. Real hardware, real workloads.
Clustered Compute Nodes
Learning Proxmox and clustering on repurposed enterprise hardware. Currently figuring out Ceph storage and high availability. Broke it twice, fixed it twice — that's the point.
Raspberry Pi 5 Tinkering
One Pi 5, a PoE hat, and a lot of trial and error. Currently learning Docker and seeing how much this little board can actually handle before it cries.
Network Lab & Backbone
MikroTik-powered routing and firewall lab. Learning VLAN segmentation, firewall rules, and how not to lock myself out of my own network. 1Gb backbone, plenty of mistakes, steady progress.
Learning in public.
Hubris Network is my home lab and learning journal. What started with one MikroTik router and a Raspberry Pi is slowly becoming a real infrastructure lab — emphasis on slowly.
I'm Noah. I'm figuring this out as I go — VLANs, Proxmox, containers, all of it. No cloud dependencies, no vendor lock-in, no pretending I know everything. Just hardware, open-source tooling, and a commitment to recording the journey honestly.
